As of our first competition only two images are being scored, Linux and Windows 11. This makes our time spent this week during 3ncrypt3d Club vital. We are continuing our training and practice for competition in November with this weeks meeting focusing on Linux images. Linux is much more difficult to deal with especially if you are not familiar with the operating system as settings are usually configured in a CLI rather than a GUI making the goal of the competition to harden your system challenging.
Due to many members being new lots of us had to struggle a bit before truly understanding the Linux operating system. Those field guides really carried us through some difficult points that would be tedious to find otherwise. Many members were able to distinguish themselves as a Linux person or a Windows person today for future reference during competitions.

What causes so many students to struggle with Linux is its unique reliance on the CLI compared to Windows user friendly GUI requiring students to actually have to learn to navigate their way around the operating system. However, this year our members seem to be picking up on it much faster due to the resources provided by Mr. Smith. Based off our training images our competition scores should be promising but there’s no guarantees. I hope to see both teams Dogbytes and OHHSTech excel during our up and coming competition. Be sure to sleep well the night before so we can be sure to do our very best, Good Luck Bulldogs!
