Letter from the Historian
To whoever opens this article,
I want to say that I am truly grateful to be this year’s historian. Like I said in my speech from our last meeting of the school year, I did not just write articles and take pictures, I captured memories and friendships that were created in the club. To me, having that role is something I am truly lucky to have and I wouldn’t change anything about it.
I know for a fact that the next school year will be different especially since it will not be the same people. However, I will accept that and I look forward to be able to work with our future club members and be able to teach my skills to others alongside with returning club members.
The people that I have met in this school year in club has made a big impact on me and how I am today. The seniors that have graduated have taught me that I will always be accepted and that it was okay to ask for help. I looked up to these people because they helped me become more comfortable and show who I truly am without being scared. I truly felt accepted when I was around them and working with them was truly an honor. I wouldn’t change a thing about that, they are amazing people and I know that they will achieve many things in their life and I hope to be able to meet them again in the near future. For now, I want to thank them for the wonderful memories and allowing me to be their club historian. I can’t thank them enough for everything, it’s difficult to put into words how much their friendships mean to me and how much of an impact they have had on me.
The day of our last club meeting, I was uneasy with the gifts that I have made since it was my first time ever making graduation gifts for a large amount of seniors. However, I didn’t expect for them to turn to their notebooks and exchange them amongst each other and with other club members. It was when I saw that everyone was writing notes and letters to each other as a way to remember each other and thank them for the memories and friendship they had in club and in school. I was truly amazed by it and I honestly didn’t know how to react, but I felt happy having the opportunity to witness that and be apart of those moments. Those moments were beautiful, I can’t put into words the happiness and warm feeling that I had when being in that room with the people I love and care about.
As for the members that were in my team, I also want to thank them for allowing me to be their team leader. Even when they were times that I did not know how to help them with something they were struggling with, we still stuck together and did our best to solve the challenges that we were facing. They helped me gain confidence in my skills of leadership and from there, I was also able to gain new friendships I didn’t think I would be able to make. Thank you for that, you don’t know how much I appreciate it.
Before I end my letter, I also want to write to Coach Smith who has been a wonderful coach and teacher. Even though the 2021-22 school year was my first year of being in his class in person, he always pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and keep trying again until I succeeded. Not only that, he also helped me believe that I can be able to do so much more and I can’t wait to be in his class for CCNA II. Not only that but I also want to thank you for helping me arrange the gifts for the seniors, without you, it would have been more difficult to get everything together on time and having to deal with the thoughts that the seniors wouldn’t like the gifts. I really do appreciate everything you have done for me so far, I can’t thank you enough for it.
This is where I end my letter, thank you for taking the time in reading my words, I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for our club and reunite with returning club members. I wish everybody nothing but the best, including our graduating Encrypted Club Seniors.
Sincerely,
Alejandra Aguilera
