March 16th – Aftermath of Mayor’s Cup and the Introduction of SoCal Cyber Cup

After the meeting was called to start, President Gutierrez congratulated everybody for their efforts in Mayor’s Cup. Not only that but the club also celebrated DogBytes 2nd Place win!

After that, the members went straight to work signing up for the next event, which is SoCal Cyber Cup will will be happening on Saturday, April 23. Coach Smith gave out all the codes to each member so that they could be able to have access to the practice Gym.

Not only that but three new guests came into today’s club meeting. They were introduced as Ismeal G., Steve G., and Alvaro G. Currently they are college students attending different universities and are majoring in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. They were there to answer questions for members who wanted tips, about college life, and possible help that they can give when it comes to cybersecurity or other IT topics.

Throughout the whole meeting, members began to be exposed to even more topics that they haven’t seen in Mayors Cup. Students are now looking into the same topics as Mayors Cup, but they are also looking into wireless access exploitations, forensics, scanning, web application exploitations, and enumeration & exploitations.
