March 9th – A New Guest and More Cyber Skyline

For today’s meeting, Coach Smith and President Gutierrez announced the Project Showcase which was an event that will be occurring on April 28th for the Cedar Parent Night. In this event, all of the Cisco Networking Academy and Intro to Computer Science classes will be demonstrating IT skills by building a computer and having a giveaway, seeing who would be the lucky winner of the computer.

Not only that but for this showcase, sponsors are also needed for this event to be possible as well and in return, the sponsor’s logo would be placed on the computer tower and/or give away business cards to promote the business. Not only that but there are also other plans being made so the Networking classes can be able to show off more of their skills as well.

After announcing the Project Showcase, Coach Smith also introduced a new guest named Kaylom who works in the IT area for a company. He was able to go around and answer questions for members who had questions about his position, certifications, and possible advice that he can give for Mayor’s Cup and the Cyber Skyline questions. As the guest walked around, Coach Smith was also able to give members RFID blocking cards for wallets and Rubber Ducky USBs to the leaders of each team.
