November 12th – CyberPatriot Round 2!
On Friday, all members were able to arrive at the agreed time which was 10:00 A.M prepared and ready to start working on their images. As many started to set them up and start the six-hour timer, there were also members who also were able to quickly write down last minute notes which was mostly a checklist of the vulnerability summary for each image. With that, it could be used so that members can have an idea of what to look for as they work on the images.
For Round 2, it was expected that these images, forensic questions, and vulnerabilities would be different from Round 1. Even though this round has become more challenging, teams were able to pull through and gather as many points as they could.
Throughout the six-hour period, food was brought so that members could be able to have something to eat and have the opportunity to take a break whenever they hit a wall. With breaks, teams are able to relax and start off strong when they return to gain more points for their images.
There were many walls throughout Round 2, however many teams were able to overcome these walls and gain some points for each vulnerability that they fixed for their images. Keep in mind that with only gaining a point or two can make a big difference in ranks.
As for the members working on Packet Tracer, many members began strong as they worked through it even though it was in fact a bigger network than the one from Round 1.
Congratulations to all the members that were able to get through Round 2!
