October 23rd – CyberPatriot Round 1!
At 9:50 A.M on Saturday, October 23rd, the gate was opened to our CyberPatriot participants so they could be able to get a head start on their images for Round 1. Members were able to arrive on time and were able to get started a little over 10:00 A.M. With the plans that teams were able to discuss Wednesday, the last meeting before Round 1, they were able to organize themselves and work on their images.
With their notes that members have taken the time to organize and make, they were able to gain points with users, Firefox updates, forensics questions, etc. As members were pushing for points on their images, members who were working on Packet Tracer were also pushing to make progress on meeting the requirements by using the knowledge they were able to gain from the Cisco Modules and from what they have learned from their CCNA 1-CCNA 2 classes.
Throughout the six hours, members were able to take breaks by going outside and grabbing a snack that was brought by members. I would like to say thank you for the lovely food, it is appreciated and it does make a difference for members so that they can be able to take a break and not get tired so quickly when they hit their walls. At one point, many students hit their walls but they were able to overcome it and gain a few more points which would definitely make a difference to their scores.
Congratulations to all the members who have participated today! All the efforts that were placed in these images and Packet Tracers have made a difference in the scores for each team. Every. Point. Matters. Even if a member gained one point, it still made a difference in the team’s placement among all the other teams that are also competing in CyberPatriot. Once again, congratulations on making it through Round 1!
