September 1st Meeting

An estimation of close to 30 members have arrived at the meeting and for today’s meeting, club officers have decided to start off the members with the Pwned Game. For this game, members would have to start off in the first part of the game which was to gain access to a computer by looking into the files. Eventually after doing so and talking to the security guard, if done properly, members would move on to the second part. In the second part of the game, players would be given a checklist and a GUI of the Windows settings and from there, players would have to secure that GUI and once they finish everything on that checklist, they have completed the game.

Pwned Game Part 2

After completing the game, club officers directed the club to CTF, which led to students creating new accounts and signing up to take on the challenges that were able to be given. Each member worked together and utilized online resources and advice from returning members to solve each challenge and set a ranking for themselves on the official scoreboard. Due to the fact that each challenge gave a different amount of points depending on the level of difficulty, members were able to gain points so they could be able to make their way onto the scoreboard and aim to be 1st place by the end of the meeting. Looking at these challenges, there were a variety of different challenges such as different types of ciphers (ceasar ciphers, etc), programming languages (python), etc. At the end of the meeting, the rights score of 190 points, an impressive amount of points. For the first time for returning and new members, these scores are very impressive. Due to communication and collaboration, members were able to learn new things and improve their skills with these types of challenges that they will face in Cyberpatriot.
