Today we had a great party of 26 people that joined today. For the first time of the year, we as a club started using Autopsy, a digital forensics application that can be used to pick apart drives. From seeing deleted files to checking what operating system was being used, you can do it all
Today we had 21 people join! Continuing after last week, we went over cryptology. Mr.Smith made a CTF(capture the flag) that will be up until September 2nd(details about it is on OHHStech). We had 26 people join, with a special guest Kaylom Arias. Today we dove into to cryptology, deciphered code that was encrypted using a Caesar cipher. We used Python (coding language) to make a Ceaser cipher and encrypt it to Rot13 (More on that below). There is now a club Repl.it that you can join.
Today was the first day of Club, 22 people showed up. A lot of new faces showed up. Hopefully, we’ll get more. This is the Club’s first time meeting since the school started. Students are still showing up to club remotely and today we are juicing it! Juice Shop that is. Juice Shop is an excellent platform to learn security vulnerabilities–combine that with a CTF platform and it’s game on!
COVID 19 couldn’t stop the teams from doing qualification round! It looked a little different this year, with teams utilizing groups in Discord, but it worked nonetheless. Congrats to all the team members who showed up and competed well! Discord in action! Teams on the rise!
Club decided to participate again in this year’s OHHS thanksgiving basket. The basket turned out great with a festive turkey flair and some quality food donations. Hopefully, our basket will help make Thanksgiving a little brighter for a family in our community.
This was a grueling round, but all five teams persevered and gave their all until the end. At this point, it looks like four out of five teams will advance to State as Platinum and the fifth team will enter State as Gold. Nice work!!
Wow, round one was amazing! There was some grueling moments, but at the end of the day, four out of five teams are in the running for platinum! The fifth team is still in the running for gold! Amazing work together!
