First Practice Round!

On October 17th, we held our very first practice round with all of our teams assembled, with just one member absent. A practice round simulates a real competition, so naturally, everyone aimed for a perfect score of 100. It was expected to be a typical session—at least, that’s what most thought. However, this was the first practice using updated systems, featuring Windows 11, whereas previous rounds had always used Windows 10. Additionally, there were changes on the Linux side, with two Linux images in play: Ubuntu 22 and Linux Mint. While Mint is based on Ubuntu, its graphical user interface (GUI) is noticeably different. These updates meant that some participants had to familiarize themselves with the new interfaces. With only a week and a day left before the official competition, teams are working hard to refine their scripts and master new techniques.

Steven Najera is working on the new Linux Mint! While new comer Anthony Medina tackles Linux Ubuntu 22.

Mr. Smith observes as people work through figuring out a task, offering guidance and assistance when needed.
